Background: Mr. Worley’s education is in experimental physics from University of Cincinnati. He has developed and taught courses in Electronics (Digital and Analog), Microsoft Operating Systems, C Programming, Math, Physics, Microwaves and R.F. for over 40 years at Mesa and San Diego City College. He was also the Senior Thesis Advisor in Engineering Technology for United State International University (U.S.I.U.) in San Diego, CA. As an advisor he brings several years of academic and engineering to the Autonomous Underwater Vehicle group.
He worked for Ryan Aeronautical as an Electronics Engineer in Radar Augmentation, Remotely Piloted Vehicles and Target Drones. He received a patent in Microwaves for a microwave source developed for ARPA. He was also employed as a Senior Engineering Physicist in the advanced design department and as a Project Engineer on autonomous airborne supply delivery systems for the Air Force.
At Narmco-Whittaker Research and Development he was a Senior Engineer in the Electro Chemistry Department doing studies on radar cross-sections.
He was an Associate Engineer for UCSD-La Jolla Cosmo-Chemistry Department. Reporting directly to Dr James Arnold, Presidential Advisor for the Space Program. He designed, built and maintained electronic systems used for gamma ray detection and analysis.
Was Chief Engineer for KSDS the countries oldest educational FM station located at 88.3 MHz. Maintained Station. Instructed students in performing required Proof of Performance Tests and documentation required by FCC.
Taught in house training programs for Sony (TV Electronics), Loral Conic (RF Command Control Systems), General Dynamics (Microwave Measurements) and Arcade Game Industry.
Department Chair for Aviation, Marine and Electronics Technology Department at Mesa College from 1980 to 1990. Have integrated Robotics into his Digital and Analog Courses since 1984.
Department Chair at San Diego City College Engineering and Technology Department from 1995 to retirement in 2003.
Presently teaching adjunct at San Diego City College.
An affiliate professor with San Diego State University in the Project Lead The Way program since 2002 to present. The mission of the PLTW program is to promote engineering programs in Middle and High Schools. He participates in developing curriculum and teaching summer classes to Middle and High School Teachers.
